Relief for Renters & Homeowners - included in recently passed State budget - apply today!

ATTENTION HOMEOWNERS & RENTER - Apply for relief:

The New York Stat Legislature approved the State budget, which included an additional $800 million for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) and an additional $125 million for the Homeowners Assistance Fund. Apply today - - there are advantages to even being on the waiting list.

The Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF)'s website has not been updated yet but you should apply for the waiting list as applications will be processed in the order in which they've been received. The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) also announced on April 6th that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises) will require servicers to suspend foreclosure activities for up to 60 days if the servicer has been notified that a borrower has applied for assistance under the Department of the Treasury’s Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF)For assistance call our Housing Counseling Division and speak to Rene, Shaheda or Rosalinda at 718.647.8100. For more information on HAF, visit www.nyhomeownerfund.org

ERAP & LRAP: The State has not yet updated the website for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program or Landlord Rental Assistance Program but with the extra infusion of funds in the State budget and the protections it provides in Housing Court, it is well worth being on the waiting list.

Apply today at: nysrenthelp.otda.ny.gov/en/ or call CHLDDC at 718.647.8100 for assistance or Good Shepherd Services at (929) 552-2489

Cease and Desist: Register to Protect Your Home!

The Coalition for Community Advancement won a Cease and Desist Zone for a huge portion of CB5! If you are getting harassed to sell your home, please register and report the harassments!

Here is where you and homeowners can register to be added to the list. It takes less than 2 minutes!
Or you can call 518–473–2728 to request a registration form from the Department of State to be mailed to you.

What is a Cease and Desist Zone and why is it important?

If you are a homeowner in East New York and you have registered your home, real estate investors cannot contact you to try to purchase your home. They legally cannot call, knock on your door, or leave marketing materials on your property without risking fines, criminal charges or loss of real estate licenses.

See here for more information.
